Church Ownership and church membership are very different. Membership at the Country Club etc. is about others serving you, but Ownership means adding value such as in your home or family or church, through an emphasis on serving others. Jesus said before beginning anything we should “count the cost,” in Luke 14:28. So as you think about beginning as church owner at 1st General Baptist, here are some questions and answers to consider. What do I need to do before I become a New Church Owner? Receive Jesus as personal Savior. Follow Jesus in baptism. What are the expectations of New Church Owners? Tithe – The ideal is 10%, but start somewhere. Attend – ReCharge 60 as often as you can. Serve  - Somewhere you’re most comfortable Live – Like a Jesus follower. (e.g.) Marriage; Sexuality etc. What do I need to do to become a New Church Owner? All you have to do is come to Malden First General Baptist Church at 601 Barrett Dr in Malden where will we be handing out bags of food in the parking lot to anyone who comes by! We're having a special Baptism Sunday on April 14th during ReCharge Worship! I’ve heard it said all my life. That “It’s an outward sign of an inward change!” To become a Jesus follower you’ve A - Admitted that you’re a sinner. (Romans 3:23) B - Believed Jesus died to save you from sin. (John 3:16) C - You’ve Called on upon the name of the Lord (Romans 10:13) & He saved you. If you’ve done these things you’ve started a relationship with Jesus Christ! Now, I’d like to invite you to take the Next Step in following Christ, and that is letting people know by an outward sign that you’ve been inwardly changed through baptism. Tee Ball registration will be on April 14th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the First General ball field pavilion. Tee ball is for both boys and girls ages 4-6. You do not need to be a resident of Malden for your children to play Tee Ball. Tee Ball is open to the surrounding communities as well. The registration fee is $20. This includes a uniform shirt and hat, insurance coverage, an individual and team picture, and a trophy at the end of the season. Practices will start around the middle of May with games starting the first week of June and ending the last week of June. Registration forms will be made available at Malden Elementary School as well as online HERE Don’t forget, this is one of our Community Outreach Events. Our annual Easter Communion and Love Feast will be the Sunday before Easter, April 14th, beginning at 5:30 PM. We'll start in the auditorium with a time of worship and then celebrate Communion together. Following Communion service, we will move to the Family Life Center to celebrate a Love Feast with all of our church family and friends from Freedom House. Smoked pork steaks and chicken are on the menu with all the fixings! The church is providing the whole meal just bring your favorite dessert. Our communion and love feasts are a special time for our church to come together to share a meal and worship as a family. Please make it a point to share the time together.

Two Service Times - One Great Experience! Easter is the cornerstone of our faith. The fact that Jesus rose from the dead is the driving force behind our vision of being an Upbeat and Celebratory church, making disciples, and adding value to our community! Grab some family, friends, or strangers (willingly of course!) and bring them to one of our TWO Easter services. Red, White, & BOOM! begins at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, July 4th, with lots of food, fun, and entertainment. Randy & Sherri Miller will be our featured entertainment again this year! We'll have Rice Krispies, hot dogs and brats, chips, and drinks plus lots of activities to keep you and the kiddos busy and happy! New this year will be games for the kiddos! Game Competitions for kids ages 4-12 Starts @ 6:00 pm thru 8:00 pm and will include watermelon eating contest, sack races, bucket and sponge race, three-legged race and limbo! No charge! Come and join in the worship in a Drive-In style worship service. Instead of greeters, you'll be greeted with a wave and directed to a parking spot to view the big screen.
